Ohayo! Standard disclaimers, the chara of YYH and YST don't belong to us. However, being fic writers, we have decided to mess with them a bit. A few of those charas that you don't recognise do belong to us, and make this story possible.
"I need to go back home."
"Let me come with you."
The white-haired youkai followed the tiny youko deeper into the forest.
Just where was the little fox's "home" anyway? They had been traveling
for nearly half an hour, and were still going. As they went, the demon
studied the kitsune that called himself Kurushimi. He was tiny, giving
himself the appearance of a kit, but the youkai knew better. Kurushimi
was every bit of three hundred or better. Although how he remained
four feet high when he should have been at least six, still remained a
mystery. He was cute though. He wore nothing but a pair of loose
white pants. His pale skin was adorned with several pieces of gold
jewelry, bracelets, rings, and the like. The demon couldn't help but like
him. Not only was he attractive, he had a proud, confident air about
him, as though he were protected by some sort of god. He was
anti-social, but the youkai intended to fix that once he got to know him
better.
After what seemed like eternity, they approached a rather quaint
structure, set deep into the Makai woods. It was built almost like a
temple, complete with the sliding doors and little windchimes swaying
sweetly in the breeze.
"This is where you live?" he chanced to ask the silent youko.
"Sometimes." Kurushimi didn't even turn his head towards him, keeping
his blind sight trained forward. That was another thing about he fox that
had the demon entranced. He was blind, though he used his ki to see
the things that were necessary. He didn't let his handicap make him any
less confident or proud. In fact, it made him all the more beautiful and
exotic.
The youkai nodded to himself, following Kurushimi through the door
that was opened by a slave. He raised an eyebrow at the passive black
youko that he passed. Her eyes were gray and distant. He didn't have
much time to dwell on it as he was led to a particular chamber by the
small youko.
Kurushimi paused in front of the door, reaching a hand up to knock.
"Master Yomi?"
The youkai blinked in surprise at Kurushimi's words. Master Yomi?
"Come in, Kurushimi," a deep, rich voice replied. For the moment, it
made the white-haired demon uncomfortable and unsure as to whether
or not he really wanted to follow through with this. But one look at
Kurushimi made him double his resolve to stay with the kitsune, no
matter what his master was like.
Kurushimi slid the door open and stepped inside. He motioned for the
youkai to follow, and he did. The room they entered was dark, devoid
of all light, save the long, dark red candles that burned in various
corners of the room. The taller demon looked around at the lavish
decorations, his sight landing on a rather large youkai, who sat regally
on a pile of soft pillows. The owner of the deep voice was big indeed,
his form well-built and his skin dark. Long black hair fell over strong
shoulders and down a broad back. Six ears were sharp and attentive,
three on each side of the high-held head. A pair of horns curled down
the side of the pensive face, a pair was set behind that, another pair
following down the back of his head. His thickly-lashed eyes were
closed, as blind as Kurushimi. The demon, Yomi, was a rather
intimidating sight, and he radiated power...an almost sadistic sort.
"Who have you brought with you, Kurushimi?" Yomi asked in that rich
voice.
The youko stepped forward, bowing to his master. "His name is Seth,
Master Yomi. He wishes to stay and serve you as I."
"Does he?"
Seth watched Yomi's head turn towards him, those closed eyes
seeming to see straight into his very soul. He swallowed nervously,
wondering what was going through the youkai's mind. Yomi tilted his
head, as though considering Kurushimi's words.
"Hmmmm...I have been thinking of a mission that might require one of
his kind." He smiled an almost cruel smile that made Seth swallow
again. Did he actually know...actually see that he was a Learner? Those
sightless, closed eyes turned back to Kurushimi, who waited patiently
for his master's response.
"Do you think he's capable of serving me, Kurushimi?"
The kitsune "looked" at Seth, something like a faint smile tugging at the
corners of his lips. Seth couldn't help but send him a reassuring grin of
his own. Kurushimi nodded.
